Alfa/Bravo is a contemporary Serif typeface family for continuous text and display. The Latin was designed by Ori Ben-Dor as a final project in his Master of Type Design in Paris. The Hebrew and Arabic were designed by Michal Sahar, following the Latin design ideas. All three scripts introduce unusual details that distinguish the typographic appearance of Alfa/Bravo in text and display.
In Alfa/Bravo, for the first time, I was trying to stretch the limits and explore the possibility of developing a sub-style in Arabic for the purpose of creating adequate text hierarchies.
The cursive Arabic style is inspired by traditional Ruqaa calligraphy, a style that was chosen carefully because of its visual singularity.
